“ Picked up some bagels from Utopia Bagels in their Midtown location today. The establishment is pretty spacious with a few tables and seats. It also looks well maintained and clean. It's decorated simply, there isn't really a theme. Ambiance 6/10. My boyfriend and I ordered: 1. A Hashbrown: This tasted average, nothing special. I wish they made it crispier since it was very soft. Rate 6/10. 2. Tex Mex Chicken on a Garlic Bagel: This tasted yummy however, there were some negatives about this bagel. The chipotle chicken didn't have any chipotle flavor. It also lacked pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo which was upsetting because I didn't taste any spice you normally would with these ingredients. The bacon was very overpowering, and all I tasted was that. However, the garlic bagel itself was very good, had a strong garlic flavor, and was toasted nicely. Plus, the portion size was perfect for breakfast. Rate 7/10. 3. Build Your Own Sandwich: I enjoyed this option because it allowed me to make my own choices such as the egg style, type of cheese, etc. I ordered a sausage, egg (omelette) and mozzarella cheese on a scooped out, buttered egg bagel. This was delicious, probably because it was an order I practically hand picked. The egg bagel itself though was different in terms of a classic egg bagel taste. It didn't really taste like an egg bagel, it more had a "soft pretzel from Wetzel's Pretzel" taste. Nevertheless, it was still good overall, and it was nice and crispy. The portion size kept me full and satisfied. Rate 8.5/10. The service was quick considering I ordered online ahead of time. The staff were friendly. Staff/service rate 7/10. Overall, I would definitely come back here and try another bagel option they have on their extensive menu! ”
“ Superb bagels! They were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside, which to me makes the perfect bagel. I got the sesame (toasted) with nova spread, which I would recommend. There's some limited seating inside, so be prepared to take your bagel elsewhere to eat if it's too busy. Would definitely be coming back. ”
“ I was in East midtown and decided to try Utopia bagels on my way uptown. My go-to is usually a BEC, but I decided to try their nova salmon with scallion cream cheese on an everything bagel. It was delicious! Service is pretty quick and it was a fairly quiet spot for mid-morning. I was most impressed with the ratio of cream cheese to salmon. ”
“ This place is busy but efficient and I was surprised by the call unhurried and efficient approach of the cashiers One of them even told us we might be ordering too much cream cheese (a pound per dozen is reasonable they suggested) Stand in line, order and give a name and last initial and stand at the end to then collect your order when your name is called Not much space to sit but there are tables Can order in earlier and pick up your order from the far end also if needed Great addition to the neighborhood ”
“ This was on the top of my list to visit after seeing them be featured on so many YT foodies I follow. I dropped in before a Broadway matinee that I got tickets for last minute. It was lunch rush so there was a buttload of people inside. Being a creature of habit, I got myself a bacon, egg & cheese on a everything bagel. There were no seats available and I was about to make my way out to eat my order outside when I saw an empty seat in the corner that happened to be free. There was a family of 3 that took over a table for 4 so I invited myself over to their party. Luckily, they obliged. Turns out they were my neighbors. Well, they happen to also be from SoCal, Anaheim to be specific. I ended up talking to the mom the whole time. We bonded over how shitty the bagels are back home. I ended up sharing some of my food with her cos she was eyeing it like she wanted some. What a pleasant time. I'm dropping by before I go back home. ”
“ As a New Yorker, you would think that I would eat more bagels but I really don't. For me, I just think that I could buy some bagels from Too Good to Go and make my own spread for a lot cheaper. Either way, it's always a special day when I eat a bagel. Met some friends here and it was delicious. Honestly, the biggest pro was that they had a menu which most bagel shops don't. I like to experiment with my bagel order so it was great for them to give me more options to play with. I ordered a Whitefish Salad on Toasted Onion Bagel and it was delicious. The salad was refreshing but also had a strong fish flavor which I loved. Also, I need to order onion bagels more often because I loved the crispiness of the onion flakes on the bagel, which paired very well with the whitefish. I will say that this isn't the best bagel I ever had but the combination was great. Will definitely be back if ever in the area! ”
“ Utopia Bagel is definitely my go-to spot for bagels in the Midtown East/Murray Hill area! The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is a classic done right -- fresh, flavorful, and hits the spot every time. Pair it with a hot cup of their coffee, and you're set for the morning. Seating can be a bit tricky, especially during the busy morning rush or on weekends. There's not much room for groups larger than two, but if you're lucky, you might be able to snag a few tables to push together. It's a popular spot, so keep your eyes peeled for open seats. ”
“ A spacious and clean bagel store. Plenty of seatings. A lot of options of schmears. You can see how they make the bagels as soon as you enter. Service was fast, I got my order right away. It has some chewiness and the outside has a good crust ”
“ Utopia Bagel truly lives up to its name! SERVICE - The ordering process was simple--just place your order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. FOOD - I opted for the everything bagel with cream cheese, and it exceeded all my expectations. The bagel was incredibly fluffy, with that perfect slight crunch on the outside that makes a New York bagel so iconic. The generous amount of cream cheese was a surprise--none of that thin layer nonsense here! It was everything I imagined a New York bagel to be and more. ”
